Growth Strategy

Growth is not a matter of chance, but the result of deliberate decisions. I work with Swiss SMEs not only to identify growth potential, but to validate it commercially and implement it operationally.

My approach combines strategic foresight (Dr. oec. HSG, strategy consulting) with the hard reality of operational P&L responsibility (former General Manager). We do not produce paper; we create measurable business value.

Starting point

The core questions

Growth is rarely linear. To reach the next level, SMEs often have to manage difficult trade-offs. Together, we clarify:

  • Defining the playing field: Which markets and niches offer profitable potential, and which do we deliberately leave aside?
  • Sharpening competitive differentiation: How do we differentiate ourselves measurably from competitors, rather than simply aiming to be “better”?
  • Ensuring scalability: Will our structures, processes and team withstand the demands of growth?
  • Assessing risk and resilience: Where do the hidden risks in expansion lie?

Approach

My approach: strategy meets reality

I focus on five levers that make the difference between a plan and a success:

1. Uncompromising market reality (market intelligence)
We replace assumptions with facts: analysis of demand, competitive dynamics and genuine customer needs. The aim is decisions based on data, not on gut feeling.

2. Sharpening the value proposition
Growth requires clarity. We define precisely why a customer buys from you, and translate this into clear market positioning.

3. Prioritising the options
Whether new business models, M&A or geographic expansion: we develop scenarios and prioritise them by value contribution and feasibility.

4. Financial and operational viability
As a former P&L owner, I test every strategy for its financial robustness. A business case has to add up, not just look good.

5. Implementation roadmap
Strategy is worthless without execution. We define clear milestones, KPIs and responsibilities, so that plans translate into tangible results.
